江戸時代のはじめ、300人を超すキリシタンが、この地「大籠」で殉教しました。
いかなる迫害にも屈しないで、信仰の道を守り抜いた大籠の先人たちの崇高な歴史は、将来にわたって語り継がなければなりません。大籠キリシタンの布教と殉教の歴史を子々孫々に伝えるため、殉教公園として整備いたしました。
この公園が、多くの皆様に親しまれ、郷土愛、人間愛を育む場となりますことを心から願ってやみません。
At the beginning of the Edo period, more than 300 people were martyred at Okago. The history of this period of persecution and oppression, and the way people protected their faith and their noble character, must not be lost but preserved for future generations. Fujisawa town has established this park in order to preserve the history of the Okago Christians, their teachings and their martydom for future generations, with the truth told by the people of Okago.We sincerely hope that the Memorial Park and Museums will help to foster a love of local history.
